Job Title: Mechanical Technician – Power & Generators
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on power plant equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Maintain lubrication, cooling, fuel gas, exhaust, pumping, compression, and piping systems.
- Execute maintenance activities according to CMMS schedules, OEM recommendations, and company procedures.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify potential mechanical defects before failures occur.
- Collect and analyze vibration, pressure, temperature, and performance data to support equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out repairs on generators, pumps, compressors, fans, and heat exchangers.
Disassemble, inspect, repair, and replace worn or damaged mechanical components as required.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations to minimize downtime.
- Participate in planned shutdowns, inspections, overhauls, and major maintenance activities.
- Perform servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of diesel generators and associated systems.
- Assist with the installation, testing, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and generator systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, manage spare parts, and provide recommendations for performance improvement.
Requirements
- ND, HND, Technical Diploma, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Power Plant Technology, or related discipline.
- Certifications in Gas Engine Operation & Maintenance, Diesel Engine Operation/Maintenance, Rotating Equipment Operation/Maintenance will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a power plant, oil & gas facility, industrial plant, marine facility, or similar environment.
- Proven experience maintaining diesel generators, pumps, compressors, valves, and associated auxiliary systems.
- Experience participating in plant shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance activities.
- Experience with gas engines in the 20-50MW range and familiarity with gas systems and power generation auxiliaries will be considered a significant advantage.
