Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Weapon Technician / Gunsmith Manager to lead our weapons maintenance, assembly, inspection, and technical support operations.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, ensuring the quality, functionality, and reliability of products, and maintaining compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of Weapon Technicians and Gunsmiths.
  • Oversee the inspection, assembly, maintenance, repair, and testing of products and components.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards, technical specifications, and safety procedures.
  • Review technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to support production and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and workshop operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory usage.
  • Coordinate training and development activities for technical staff.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, and Supply Chain teams to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment, and facilities.
  • Support research, product improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide regular updates to management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 - 8 years' relevant experience in technical maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical systems, or a related environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience managing technical teams and workshop operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Professional certifications relevant to technical maintenance or engineering will be an added advantage.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Someone with military background would be preferable.
