Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

  • St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy Unit in ensuring the efficient dispensing, storage, and management of medications.
  • The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical support services, maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescribed medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive, label, store, and arrange pharmaceutical products appropriately.
  • Prepare medications for dispensing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in inventory management, stock taking, and monitoring of medication levels.
  • Monitor drug expiry dates and ensure timely removal of expired or damaged products.
  • Maintain accurate records of drug receipts, issues, and stock balances.
  • Assist in processing prescriptions and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Provide basic medication information to patients under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper storage conditions within the pharmacy.
  • Adhere strictly to pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
  • Assist inmaintaining pharmacy documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.

Education & Professional Requirements

  • OND / HND in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the appropriate regulatory body and possession of a valid practicing license where applicable.

Experience:

  • Fresh sound graduates with good practical exposure may also be considered.
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting is preferred.
