We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Assistant Plantation Supervisor
Locations: Lagos, Ore, Okitipupa & Akure - Ondo, Ado Ekiti - Ekiti, Abeokuta - Ogun, and Ibadan - Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Plantation Operations Management:
- Support the Division Officer in overseeing daily plantation operations and field activities.
- Monitor harvesting, pruning, spraying, fertilizer application, maintenance, and other agronomic activities to ensure compliance with approved standards.
- Assist in coordinating field operations to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Monitor Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) harvesting activities to ensure quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Ensure harvested FFB is properly evacuated and delivered promptly for processing.
- Conduct regular field inspections to identify operational challenges and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor field upkeep activities including road maintenance, drainage management, and general estate sanitation.
Agronomy & Crop Management:
- Support the implementation of best agronomic practices to improve productivity and sustainability.
- Assist in monitoring fertilizer application programmes and ensure proper utilization of agricultural inputs.
- Support pest and disease surveillance activities and recommend timely interventions.
- Monitor weed control activities to ensure plantation fields remain productive and accessible.
- Assist in implementing soil conservation, erosion control, and environmental protection measures.
- Support irrigation management activities to ensure adequate water availability for plantation operations where applicable.
Labour & Workforce Supervision:
- Assist in supervising field supervisors, harvesters, sprayers, maintenance workers, and other plantation personnel.
- Monitor daily attendance and workforce deployment to ensure adequate manpower allocation.
- Support the enforcement of productivity standards and operational discipline.
- Participate in onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and performance monitoring of field employees.
- Assist in resolving operational and workforce-related challenges within the division.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication across operational teams.
Production Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly production figures and operational performance indicators.
- Monitor FFB yields, harvesting efficiency, labour productivity, and field performance metrics.
- Prepare and submit operational reports as required by Management.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, labour deployment, input utilization, and production outputs.
- Support Management with operational data for decision-making and planning purposes.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Crop Science, Forestry, Plantation Management, Agricultural Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 4–6 years of experience in plantation, agricultural, or estate operations is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of oil palm plantation operations and field management practices.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a plantation environment and manage field operations.
