Job Summary
- We are seeking a young driven legal officer with 3 - 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join its Legal & Regulatory Affairs team in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations and drafting of high-value contracts: PSCs, JVAS, OML/OPL transactions, EPC, FPSO, drilling, and service agreements.
- Manage complex litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations / engagements with NUPRC, FIRS, NCDMB.
- Provide transactional support for M&A, farm-ins/farm-outs, asset acquisitions/divestments.
- Develop internal policies, train business teams on legal risk, and oversee external counsel.
- Support corporate governance, board matters, and company secretarial duties.
Requirements
- LLB + BL with first or second class upper division from a reputable university with 3-5 years Post- Qualification Experience (PQE) in a top-tier law firm and/or in- house oil & gas/energy company.
- Deep knowledge of Nigerian oil & gas law, PIA 2021, PSC/JOA structures, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record negotiating high value transactions and managing disputes.
- Strong commercial acumen + excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
- Member of Nigerian Bar Association NBA. LL.M, ACArb, or CIPM is an advantage.
- Must demonstrate high integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work with executives.
