The Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), a non-profit organisation, was established in 2019 to accelerate the growth of the impact investment industry in Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Brand Communication and Digital Marketing Officer
Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
- The Brand and Communications Officer will lead IIF’s brand communications and digital engagement function, developing and implementing communication strategies that bring to life the Foundation’s vision, programmes, and ecosystem-building work.
- At a time when impact investing in Nigeria and across Africa is gaining real momentum, this role exists to ensure that IIF’s contribution to that momentum is seen, understood, and credited — strengthening the Foundation’s voice and visibility within the ecosystem.
- This means translating complex, technical work — capital mobilisation, ecosystem development, policy engagement, institutional partnerships — into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with investors, development partners, policymakers, and the public alike. It means managing how IIF shows up across media, digital platforms, and stakeholder touchpoints, so that every interaction reinforces the Foundation’s credibility. And it means ensuring that as IIF’s impact grows, so does the visibility and recognition that impact deserves.
- The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with programmes, research, and partnerships to ensure that IIF’s external voice is as strong, consistent, and convincing as the work behind it.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Communication Strategy Development and Implementation: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of IIF’s brand communications and digital marketing strategy — including oversight of branded materials and design quality assurance — ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all channels and alignment with the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
- Digital Marketing, Content and Website Management: Develop, curate, and manage high-quality content across the website, social media, newsletters, publications, podcasts, and videos, including community management and audience engagement; oversee website performance, SEO, and digital visibility through tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console.
- Email Marketing and CRM: Design, schedule, and distribute newsletters, event invitations, and stakeholder communications via email marketing and CRM platforms, tracking open rates, engagement, and list growth to strengthen direct stakeholder communication.
- Digital Advertising and Performance Marketing: Plan, execute, and monitor paid digital campaigns across relevant platforms, managing budget allocation and tracking return on investment to extend the Foundation’s reach and visibility.
- Media Relations and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with media organisations, journalists, and key opinion leaders; manage press engagements, interviews, and media coverage to enhance IIF’s credibility and position the Foundation as a leading voice in impact investing and sustainable finance.
- Event and Campaign Communication Support: Lead the planning and execution of communication activities for IIF-led and co-hosted events, convenings, and flagship campaigns — including pre-event publicity, live coverage, post-event reporting, and impact storytelling.
- Brand Reputation and Crisis Communication Management: Monitor IIF’s brand perception across media and digital platforms, proactively managing reputational risks and coordinating timely, well-considered responses to safeguard institutional credibility.
- Partnership and Sponsor Communication Support: Develop tailored communication materials — including partnership decks, sponsorship proposals, and recognition content — that strengthen IIF’s relationships with funders, partners, and ecosystem collaborators.
- Performance Monitoring and Brand Governance: Track and analyse brand performance, digital engagement metrics, and campaign effectiveness to generate insights that optimise communication strategy, while maintaining brand governance and knowledge management systems that preserve institutional storytelling and communication assets.

- 5-7 years of relevant experience in brand communications, digital marketing, public relations, or stakeholder engagement, including demonstrated leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing brand communication strategies and digital marketing campaigns that drive measurable engagement, visibility, and organisational influence.
- Strong storytelling and content creation skills — excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling abilities, with a flair for translating complex programmes and impact data into compelling, audience-ready narratives.
- Experience navigating brand reputation and crisis communication situations, with sound judgement in managing sensitive or high-stakes external messaging.
- Knowledge of the impact investing, sustainable finance, development, philanthropy, or non-profit sectors is highly desirable.
- Media and stakeholder relations — established relationships with media houses and journalists; ability to manage press engagements and represent the Foundation’s brand externally with professionalism and poise.
- Experience managing digital platforms, content calendars, and multi-channel campaigns across social media, web, and email, with working familiarity in briefing or evaluating design and multimedia output.
- Experience managing teams, vendors, agencies, interns, or external communication collaborators.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
