About the Role

• A restaurant in Lekki is seeking a passionate, reliable, and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations and ensure the preparation of high-quality meals that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and food safety.
• The ideal candidate will be organized, team-oriented, and committed to delivering an excellent dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning food items.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and notify management of inventory shortages.
• Properly store food items and ensure minimal wastage.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations after use.
• Support the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily operations and special events.
• Contribute ideas for menu improvements and new dishes where applicable.

Requirements

• Minimum of National Diploma (ND) in Hospitality Management, Catering, Food Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Cook, or Chef in a restaurant, café, or hospitality establishment.
• Good understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
• Culinary certification is an added advantage.

Salary Range
N100,000 - N150,000 per month.
