Description 

  • The Graduate Trainee – Consumer Lending Program is designed to develop young professionals into competent consumer lending and credit specialists.
  • The program provides hands-on experience in customer acquisition, loan origination, credit assessment, portfolio management, and customer relationship management.
  • Trainees will undergo structured training while supporting the organization's efforts to provide responsible lending solutions and achieve business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all training, coaching, and development activities.
  • Identify and onboard eligible customers for consumer loan products.
  • Generate leads and build a pipeline of prospective borrowers.
  • Educate customers on available loan products, requirements, and repayment terms.
  • Assist in the collection and verification of customer documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary customer profiling and financial assessments.
  • Support credit appraisal and loan processing activities.
  • Follow up with customers throughout the loan application and disbursement process.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and lending documentation.
  • Monitor loan portfolios and support repayment tracking activities.
  • Assist in managing delinquent accounts and recovery efforts where necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and corporate partners.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.

  • Number of qualified loan applications sourced.
  • Loan disbursement volume and value.
  • Customer acquisition rate.
  • Loan portfolio quality.
  • Repayment and collection performance.
  • Turnaround time for loan processing.

  • Training assessment and performance scores.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2) or Lower Credit.
  • NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate.
  • Strong interest in consumer lending, credit analysis, and financial services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • A maximum age of 27 years is an added advantage.
