We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Credit Control & Finance Operations Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Industry: Insurance

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely collection and monitoring of insurance premiums and receivables.
  • Reduce outstanding and UN-receipted inflows in both volume and value.
  • Monitor overdue premiums and UN-remitted collections, escalating exceptions where necessary.
  • Follow up with brokers, clients, re insurers, and co-insurers for settlement of outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate records of receivables and payment statuses.
  • Safeguard company cash flow by minimizing credit exposure and financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with NAICOM guidelines and company credit policies.
  • Support all transaction receipt posting activities for both Life and Non-Life businesses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of receipts into the General Ledger (GL).
  • Confirm premium inflows in response to RSM enquiries.
  • Liaise with responsible officers to reconcile debit notes and ensure proper GL allocation.
  • Identify non-insurance receivables and refer them appropriately for processing.
  • Confirm premium payment status upon request from Claims and other business units.
  • Internal controls over premium recognition and cash application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in credit control, finance operations, receivables management, or financial control.
  • A postgraduate degree or MBA in Finance Management or related field is an added advantage.
  • ICAN or ACCA certification is required.
  • Progress toward either qualification is an added advantage.
