Job Overview

  • The Junior HR Officer supports the Human Resources department in implementing HR policies, managing employee records, coordinating recruitment activities, and assisting with staff welfare initiatives.
  • The role is designed for an early-career HR professional who will contribute to maintaining an efficient, compliant, and supportive workplace environment.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with senior HR personnel to ensure that HR processes are implemented effectively and that employees receive appropriate administrative and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding Support:

  • Assist in coordinating recruitment activities, including posting job vacancies and scheduling interviews.
  • Support the screening of applications and shortlisting of candidates.
  • Assist in preparing onboarding materials and facilitating orientation for new employees.

Employee Records Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of employment contracts and HR-related documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.

HR Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the HR department.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports, letters, and official communications.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Employee Relations Support:

  • Assist in addressing staff inquiries and HR-related concerns.
  • Support initiatives that promote employee engagement and welfare.
  • Help coordinate staff meetings, training programs, and HR activities.

Compliance and Policy Implementation:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with labour laws and organisational policies.
  • Support HR audits and documentation reviews.

Key Performance Indicators
The Junior HR Officer will be evaluated based on:

  • Accuracy and organisation of employee records
  • Efficiency in supporting recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Timeliness of HR administrative tasks
  • Responsiveness to employee inquiries and HR requests
  • Contribution to HR department efficiency

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3 – 10 years of experience in HR administration or related roles is preferred.
  • Internship experience in HR may also be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) is an advantage.
