We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Role Overview

  • The Finance Officer is responsible for the financial health and operational integrity of Alma's accounts.
  • You will manage all bookkeeping, payroll, vendor payments, financial reporting, and cash flow oversight,
  • while ensuring the business always has accurate, timely financial visibility. This role requires a qualified,
  • detail-oriented professional who can work independently and advise management with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping across all accounts using accounting software
  • Process monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time payment
  • Manage all vendor and supplier payments, reconciling against purchase orders and delivery records
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports including P&L summaries, cash flow statements, and
  • expenditure overviews
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow, flagging risks or shortfalls to management in a timely manner
  • Maintain proper records of all financial transactions and supporting documentation
  • Assist with VAT filings, tax obligations, and liaising with external auditors or tax consultants as
  • required
  • Support budget planning, financial forecasting, and cost analysis as the business scales
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and approval processes

Requirements

  • B.Sc. Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • ICAN-certified (full or part-qualified at a minimum), this is a firm requirement
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping, accounting, or finance officer role
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, payroll processing, and financial compliance
  • High attention to detail and a zero-tolerance approach to numerical error
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a retail, fashion, or consumer-facing business
  • Familiarity with POS reconciliation and multi-channel revenue tracking
