We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pattern Maker (Bags)

Location: Iyana Ipaja, Lagos 

Role Overview

  • The Pattern Maker (Bags) will work closely with the Creative Lead and Production Manager to translate design concepts into precise, production ready patterns that artisans can execute consistently at scale.
  • This is a specialist role requiring exceptional technical skill, a deep understanding of bag construction and engineering. and experience grading and refining patterns across multiple bag styles and sizes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop precise patterns from design sketches, technical briefs, and measurements provided by the Creative Lead
  • Grade patterns across bag sizes and variations to ensure consistent structure and proportion at scale
  • Create and maintain a clean, well-labelled pattern library for ongoing production use
  • Produce prototypes and samples to test structure, form, and construction before full production
  • Liaise with the Production Manager and artisans to walk through pattern instructions and resolve construction queries.
  • Refine patterns based on sampling feedback and quality control reports
  • Ensure all patterns meet the construction and quality standards of Tuntunre
  • Support the scaling of the 450-unit production plan across the 3 core designs

Requirements

  • 4-5 years' experience in professional pattern making, with bags or accessories experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to draft, grade, and refine patterns for bag production.
  • Strong knowledge of bag construction - structured panels, gussets, linings, reinforcement, and hardware placement.
  • Experience producing patterns for bags is essential.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail — errors at pattern stage multiply across production.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both the Creative Lead and production artisans.
  • knowledge of both manual pattern drafting and digital pattern tools is an advantage.
  • Portfolio of past patterns and production work required.
