Job Title: Capital Market Analyst

Job Summary

• The Capital Market Analyst will be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing investment opportunities, monitoring capital market trends, and providing data-driven insights to support investment decisions and capital raising activities.
• The role requires strong analytical capabilities, financial modelling expertise, and a deep understanding of Nigeria's capital markets and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of capital market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments.
• Monitor equity, debt, and alternative investment markets and provide timely market intelligence.
• Analyze financial statements, company performance, and investment opportunities.
• Prepare market reports, investment recommendations, and sector analyses.

Financial Modelling & Valuation:

• Develop financial models for company valuations, capital raising transactions, and investment analysis.
• Conduct business valuations using DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transaction methodologies.
• Evaluate Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), bond issuances, rights issues, and other capital market transactions.
• Support due diligence processes for investment and fundraising activities.

Investment Advisory & Portfolio Support:

• Assist in developing investment strategies and recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio performance and provide periodic performance reports.
• Conduct risk assessments and scenario analyses.
• Support transaction execution and capital market deals.

Regulatory & Compliance Monitoring:

• Stay updated on capital market regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to guidelines issued by regulatory authorities and market operators.
• Support the preparation of regulatory filings and transaction documentation.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Prepare presentations and investment memoranda for management and clients.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Support investor relations activities and client engagements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on transaction execution.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master's degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, CIS, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• 3-5 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, asset management, or financial advisory.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and global capital markets.
