Job Title: Production Manager 

Location: Enugu 
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all pharmaceutical manufacturing activities to ensure the production of quality products in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), NAFDAC regulations, WHO-GMP requirements, and company quality standards.
  • The role ensures that production targets, quality objectives, cost efficiencies, safety standards, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand and sales forecasts.
  • Ensure timely manufacturing of pharmaceutical products according to approved production schedules.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities across Oral Solid Dosage (OSD), Oral Liquid Dosage (OLD), and External Preparations production lines.
  • Monitor production output and ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Optimize machine utilization and production efficiency.
  • Minimize production downtime and wastages.

GMP and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • WHO-cGMP Guidelines
    • NAFDAC Regulations
    • ISO 9001 Quality Management System
    • Occupational Health and Safety Standards
  • Ensure production activities are conducted according to approved SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) arising from audits and inspections.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure products are manufactured according to approved specifications.
  • Collaborate with QA and QC departments to maintain product quality standards.
  • Review and approve production documentation.
  • Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification incidents.
  • Ensure strict adherence to data integrity principles.

Resource Management:

  • Manage manpower allocation and workforce scheduling.
  • Ensure adequate availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse departments for uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor production consumables and utilities usage.

Equipment and Maintenance:

  • Ensure production equipment is operated efficiently.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs with Engineering Department.
  • Ensure proper equipment qualification and validation.
  • Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Cost and Productivity Management:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce manufacturing costs and waste.
  • Monitor production KPIs and departmental budgets.
  • Improve production yields and efficiency.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE):

  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accident prevention.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE within production areas.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise production supervisors, pharmacists, operators, and technicians.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Identify training needs and develop staff competencies.
  • Foster teamwork and employee engagement.

Salary
N400,000 - N600,000 monthly.
