Job Title: Construction Equipment Manager

About the Role
- We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven construction equipment manager to oversee the planning, acquisition, deployment, utilisation, and lifecycle management of our construction equipment fleet.
- The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment assets are available, safe, cost-effective, and operating at optimal performance levels to support successful project delivery.
- This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical expertise in heavy equipment management, maintenance coordination, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and building codes.
- Manage the organization's fleet of construction equipment and assets.
- Monitor equipment utilization, productivity, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
- Develop strategies to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Establish equipment replacement, disposal, and asset optimization programs.
- Assess equipment needs and recommend procurement, leasing, or rental solutions.
- Evaluate and negotiate with equipment vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Prepare and manage equipment-related budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and company safety requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop equipment coordinators, supervisors, and fleet personnel.
- Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across equipment operations.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Plant Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–10 years' experience in construction equipment management or a similar role.
- Experience within the construction, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain sectors is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing heavy equipment fleets and coordinating maintenance activities.
