Job Title: Business Development Officer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • We are looking for an energetic and organized Business Development Officer to support our growth in the oil and gas sector.
  • In this role, you will focus on the day-to-day execution of our sales process: finding leads, handling vendor registrations, and pulling together bidding documents.
  • This is a execution-focused role for someone who knows the industry basics and wants to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential clients, including EPC contractors, procurement officers, and project teams within major oil and gas firms.
  • Gather documentation and submit applications for company registration on vendor portals (such as NipeX or specific operator platforms like SEPLAT and NEPL).
  • Assist in preparing the paperwork for technical and commercial proposals, ensuring all client submission requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Set up meetings, conduct presentations, and follow up with existing clients to maintain good relationships and secure repeat business.
  • Support the technical team by interfacing with local and international suppliers to source mechanical materials (pipes, valves, fittings) and verify compliance with project specs.
  • Keep accurate records of active leads, tender deadlines, and weekly sales activities to update management.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree (a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business is an asset).
  • Around 3 years of sales or commercial experience, with at least 1–2 years directly within the Oil & Gas or industrial supply chain sector.
  • Basic familiarity with oilfield/mechanical materials (valves, pipes, flanges) and common standards like API, ASME, or ASTM.
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of successfully handling vendor registrations or winning standard supply contracts.
  • Clear, professional writing skills for drafting proposals, and confident verbal skills for client follow-ups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for compiling reports and presentation slides.

Salary
N350,000 monthly.
