Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Mushin, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, reports, and statements.
• Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Monitor and track petty cash transactions.
• Support payroll preparation and ensure accurate employee payment records.
• Prepare and maintain financial documents and filing systems.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense monitoring.
• Generate periodic financial reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Support tax preparation and statutory remittance processes.
• Identify discrepancies in financial records and report them to the Finance Manager.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.
• Assist with inventory and asset record management where applicable.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by management.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0 – 2 years of accounting experience.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem - solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• ICAN / ATS certification or progress toward professional certification is an added advantage.

Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 / month.
