Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Our client urgently desire services of a Registrar who has a minimum of HND or BSc and a master’s degree in any relevant field.
  • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience. A previous experience in the same role in the Marine Industry will be an advantage.. The ideal candidate must be resident within Delta State

Job Responsibilities
Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Compile Equipment Lists: Coordinate with the Head of Department / teacher - in - charge to compile lists of equipment, complete with detailed specifications, for purchasing new equipment or spare parts.
  • Assess Lesson Needs: Liaise with teachers to compile lists of equipment and consumables required for effective lessons and student project work.
  • Collaborative Purchasing: Liaise with teachers and other technical grades on lists of equipment, spare parts, and consumables to prepare for purchasing.
  • Purchasing Execution: Purchase and / or assist in the purchasing of equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Stock & Inventory Control: Liaise with teachers on available stocks of materials and undertake regular inventory checks to ensure consumables remain above reorder thresholds.
  • IT Asset Tracking: Maintain a computerized up - to - date inventory system for all IT and eLearning equipment.

Maintenance, Repair & Calibration

  • Installation: Install and configure new equipment.
  • Routine Servicing: Conduct regular cleaning, servicing, and return equipment to storage or resource rooms after use.
  • Repairs & Calibration: Perform hands - on repairs and / or calibration of equipment where possible.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate the servicing, repair, and/or calibration of equipment when handled by outside school service providers or suppliers.
  • Resource Preservation: Ensure the safe custody, ongoing repair, and maintenance of all equipment and resources under their charge.

Classroom & Laboratory Support

  • Lesson Preparation: Prepare materials, components, kits, tools, and resources as required by teachers for regular lessons and student projects.
  • Laboratory Scheduling: Maintain an organized schedule of laboratory activities requiring laboratory technician intervention.
  • Active Classroom Support: Be present as required during ICT / Computer lessons in the laboratory and in all environments where technology is used.
  • Lab Setup: Assist in the setup and up - keeping of Computer Labs, resource rooms, and all school environments where technology is utilized.

Infrastructure & eLearning System Oversight

  • eLearning Support: Support the implementation and ensure the continuous good working order of eLearning solutions and equipment across all College schools.
  • System Checks: Continuously monitor and check the functionality of electrical systems within the IT labs.
  • Fault Reporting: Report infrastructural faults including services / utilities in labs, resource rooms, and technology environments to the Senior Leadership Team or Precincts Officer for swift remedial action.
  • Facility Upkeep: Coordinate with the Senior Leadership Team regarding the overall upkeep, cleaning, and clearing of laboratories and resource rooms.

Professional Development & Service Flexibility

  • Professional Growth: Attend meetings, training sessions, seminars, and staff development workshops as deemed necessary, both locally and abroad.
  • Directorate Directives: Perform other duties as may be deemed appropriate by the Education Directorates.
  • Public Service Exigencies: Perform any other duties according to the operational needs of the Public Service, as directed by the Principal Permanent Secretary.
