About the Programme

  • The South South BPO Workforce Development Programme seeks to equip young people across the South South region of Nigeria with industry-relevant skills for employment in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), technology-enabled services, and creative industries.
  • The programme is designed to create sustainable pathways into employment, remote work, freelancing, and entrepreneurship while promoting inclusion, equity, and economic empowerment.

Role Summary

  • The GESI Manager will provide strategic leadership for gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and social inclusion across all programme activities. The role will ensure that women, persons with disabilities, NEET youth, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups are effectively included and supported throughout recruitment, training, certification, and employment placement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of the programme's Gender and Social Inclusion Framework.
  • Mainstream gender and inclusion across programme design, training delivery, employer engagement, and job placement activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve programme targets for women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Establish and manage safeguarding and beneficiary protection systems.
  • Coordinate disability inclusion and accessibility measures across training centres and digital learning platforms.
  • Oversee grievance redress and referral mechanisms.
  • Conduct GESI capacity-building sessions for programme staff, trainers, employers, and partners.
  • Develop and submit periodic GESI performance reports and donor updates.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Policy, International Development, Sociology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience implementing gender, inclusion, safeguarding, or social development programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable populations.
  • Experience managing GESI components within donor-funded programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of disability inclusion, safeguarding, and social protection frameworks.
  • Experience working with development partners, government agencies, and civil society organisations.

Preferred Certifications:

  • GenderPro Certification.
  • UN Women Gender Equality Certification.
  • ILO Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment Certification.
  • CBM Disability Inclusion Certification.
  • Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Certification.
  • Safeguarding Certification.
