Job Title: Clinical Instructor

Location: Warri, Delta

Description

  • The Clinical Instructor will play a critical role in bridging classroom learning with real-world clinical practice by supervising, mentoring, and evaluating nursing students during clinical placements.
  • The successful candidate will contribute significantly to developing competent, compassionate, and highly skilled nursing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor nursing students during clinical postings and practical sessions.
  • Facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge in clinical settings.
  • Assess student competencies and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Evaluate clinical performance using established assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with healthcare facilities and clinical preceptors to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Ensure students adhere to professional ethics, patient safety standards, and institutional policies.
  • Participate in clinical skills demonstrations and simulation exercises.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and clinical performance.
  • Support curriculum implementation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and address learning gaps among students.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
  • Promote evidence-based nursing practice and lifelong learning.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid practicing license.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.).
  • Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Previous teaching, mentoring, or clinical supervision experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to nursing excellence and patient-centered care.
