The AMCE will provide exceptional care to people on the African continent, regardless of their financial means. Developed by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in clinical partnership with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust., AMCE Abuja is the first of five centres planned for development in Africa.

Job Title: Treasury Manager

Job Purpose
- The Treasury Manager will oversee the hospital’s day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring optimal liquidity management, financial risk mitigation, and efficient capital deployment.
- The role supports the CFO in executing cash management strategies, banking relationships, funding activities, and financial risk controls, while contributing to the hospital’s long-term financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Treasury Operations & Execution (Reporting to CFO):
- Execute treasury strategies aligned with the hospital’s clinical and commercial objectives.
- Provide timely treasury analysis and recommendations to the CFO and finance leadership.
- Support capital structure and funding decisions for a large-scale, internationally accredited hospital.
Cash & Liquidity Management:
- Manage daily cash positioning, forecasting, and working capital across multi-currency operations.
- Maintain and improve cash flow forecasting models to support 24/7 hospital operations, supplier payments, and payroll.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity for routine operations and emergency healthcare scenarios.
Financial Risk Management:
- Identify and monitor financial risks including foreign exchange (FX), interest rate, counterparty, and credit risks.
- Implement hedging strategies as directed by the CFO, appropriate for an international healthcare group.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk policies, lender covenants, and host-country regulatory requirements.
Banking & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Manage day-to-day relationships with international and local banks, financial institutions, and development finance institutions (DFIs).
- Coordinate banking facilities, credit lines, trade finance, and working capital loans under CFO guidance.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (procurement, medical administration, finance) to align treasury operations with clinical and operational needs.
Governance, Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure all treasury operations comply with statutory, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Maintain treasury policies, segregation of duties, and anti-fraud controls.
- Prepare treasury sections for internal and external audits, ensuring full transparency.
Systems & Process Optimization:
- Support automation and digital transformation of treasury processes, including use of treasury management systems (TMS).
- Improve reporting and decision-making through data analytics and dashboards for the CFO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or ACT are strongly preferred.
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in treasury, corporate finance, or banking.
- At least 3 years in a treasury management or senior analyst role.
- Experience in large, complex organizations (healthcare or similarly regulated industries preferred).
- Proven track record in liquidity management, financial risk management, and funding strategies.
