Job Title: Piggery / Livestock Manager

Location: Ogun

Job Summary

• Olsale Farms Limited is seeking an experienced and hands-on Piggery / Livestock Manager to oversee and drive the performance of our piggery operations.
• The ideal candidate must have proven experience in pig breeding, feeding, health management, and overall piggery production. While experience with other livestock is an advantage, piggery management is the primary focus of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the piggery unit.
• Monitor pig health, growth, feeding, breeding, farrowing, and weaning activities.
• Implement vaccination, treatment, and biosecurity programs.
• Maintain accurate records of breeding, mortality, feed consumption, medication, and production performance.
• Identify and promptly address disease outbreaks and production challenges.
• Ensure proper sanitation, waste management, and environmental hygiene within the piggery.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of farm attendants and other support staff.
• Support the management of other livestock units where required.
• Recommend and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce mortality, and optimize costs.

Requirements

• OND/HND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, or a related field preferred.
• Candidates with substantial hands-on piggery experience may be considered even if their qualifications are in a different discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience in commercial piggery operations.
• Demonstrable knowledge of pig breeding, farrowing, nursery, grower, and finisher management.
• Strong understanding of pig nutrition, disease prevention, and biosecurity practices.
• Ability to maintain production records and prepare basic farm reports.
• Experience supervising farm workers is an added advantage.
• Must be proactive, reliable, and willing to work in a farm environment.

What We Are Looking For:

• We are specifically looking for candidates who have direct, hands-on responsibility for managing pigs, not just general farm experience.
• Applicants should be able to discuss the size of piggery operations they have managed, production outcomes achieved, and challenges they have successfully resolved.
