Job Title: Sortex Operator (Color Sortex)

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Sortex Operator to oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of color sorting equipment used in sesame seed processing.
• The ideal candidate will ensure optimal machine performance, maintain product quality standards, and support efficient production processes while adhering to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust Sortex (Color Sorting) machines to achieve optimal sorting accuracy and production efficiency.
• Inspect sorted products to ensure compliance with quality specifications, including color, size, and defect standards.
• Conduct routine machine checks, cleaning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Identify and report machine faults, performance issues, or quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
• Monitor product flow and machine settings to minimize waste and maximize yield.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification.
• 2 - 3 years' experience operating Sortex, Color Sorter, Optical Sorting, or similar automated processing equipment.
• Experience in sesame seed processing, grain processing, food manufacturing, or agro-processing industries is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of machine operations, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and hygiene requirements.
• Ability to interpret production data and maintain accurate operational records.
• Strong visual acuity with the ability to identify product defects and variations.

Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 monthly Gross.
