Quality Control Officer at Recare Limited

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Location: Isolo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material & Packaging Inspection:

• Test and approve all incoming raw materials, fragrances, bottles, caps, labels per specs
• Reject non-conforming batches and liaise with procurement/suppliers for corrective action

In-Process Quality Checks:

• Monitor production lines for mixing, filling, capping, and labeling to ensure SOP compliance
• Conduct checks on pH, viscosity, color, odor, weight, and fill volume at set intervals

Finished Product Testing:

• Sample and test finished goods in the lab before batch release
• Maintain batch records, COA, and ensure NAFDAC traceability requirements are met

Documentation & Compliance:

• Update QC logs, deviation reports, and non-conformance records daily
• Support NAFDAC inspections, audits, and product registration documentation

Hygiene & GMP Enforcement:

• Enforce Good Manufacturing Practice, hygiene, and safety standards on the factory floor
• Train production staff on quality awareness and basic defect identification

Continuous Improvement:

• Investigate customer complaints/returns related to quality and recommend corrective actions
• Work with R&D and Production to reduce waste, rework, and batch failures

Requirements

• Education: BSc/HND in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related science field
• Experience: 3-5 years QC experience in FMCG, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food/beverage. Beauty/hair product experience is a plus
• Knowledge: Hands-on with lab equipment – pH meter, viscometer, scales, moisture analyzer. Knowledge of NAFDAC GMP guidelines required

Other Requirements:

• Skills: Strong attention to detail, documentation, problem-solving, and communication
• Location: Must be based in Lagos
• Other: Proficient in Excel. Integrity and ability to say “no” to substandard batches.
