News: Police Arraign Woman Over N.7million Job Scam

Police in Kubwa have arraigned one Uloma Vincent before an Abuja Grade 1 Area court over alleged N700,000 employment fraud.

The accused, a civil servant of Phase 2, Site 2, was charged under sections 321 and 366 of the Penal Code.

The prosecutor, Abba Zurumi, told the court that the complainant, Francis Ekpema of FCDA, on March 26, reported at the Kubwa Police station that the accused deceived him into delivering the sum of N700,000 to her for a job opportunity he discovered did not exist.

He said investigation revealed that the accused forged a letter of appointment dated 14/2/13 issued by the Federal Civil Service Commission in favour of the complainant.

When the charges were read to the accused person, she pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N800,000 by the judge, Mohammed Marafa, with two sureties, one who must be a civil servant of not less than Grade Level 7 and resident within the court jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned to July 17.
