We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Steward and Assistant

Location: Cross River
Reports to: Kitchen Supervisor / Head Chef

Main Function

• The Kitchen Steward and Assistant will support kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, washing kitchen equipment, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards within the kitchen environment.

Role Responsibilities
Kitchen Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Wash dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain hygiene standards.
• Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are properly organized.

Kitchen Support Operations:

• Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks.
• Support kitchen setup and closing procedures.
• Ensure availability of clean kitchen utensils and operational supplies.
• Assist with movement and storage of kitchen supplies.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain personal hygiene and proper handling of kitchen equipment.
• Report damaged equipment or operational issues promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

• 0–2 years’ experience in kitchen support or hospitality operations will be an added advantage.

Skills:
Operational and Organizational Skills:

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene.

Teamwork and Professionalism:

• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Physically fit and energetic.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
