We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cleaner

Location: Utako, Abuja (FCT) 
Reports To: Outlet Manager

Main Function

  • The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation across all areas of the luxury restaurant.
  • The role is essential in ensuring a refined, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff, in line with luxury hospitality standards and food safety regulations.

Role Responsibilities
Cleaning and Sanitation:

  • Clean and sanitize all restaurant areas including dining areas, kitchens (non-cooking areas), restrooms, entrances, offices, and staff facilities.
  • Ensure floors, surfaces, furniture, glass, and fixtures are spotless and well maintained at all times.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms regularly, ensuring adequate supply of toiletries and hygiene materials.
  • Support kitchen hygiene by cleaning back-of-house areas in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Handle basic laundry duties such as cleaning staff uniforms, napkins, table linens, and cleaning cloths where required.
  • Refill and organize cleaning materials, consumables, and hygiene supplies.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations applicable to restaurant operations.
  • Use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and correctly at all times.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure consistency and accountability.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly to management.

Guest Experience Support:

  • Ensure dining areas are cleaned and refreshed promptly before opening, during service breaks, and after closing.
  • Respond discreetly and professionally to cleaning needs during service without disrupting the guest experience.
  • Maintain a polished, calm, and professional presence consistent with luxury service standards.

Waste Management:

  • Collect, separate, and dispose of waste according to restaurant waste management procedures.
  • Ensure bins are emptied regularly, cleaned, and odor-free.
  • Support recycling and sustainability practices where applicable.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate or equivalent; additional training in sanitation or cleaning is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a professional cleaning or hygiene role, preferably in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Familiarity with food hygiene and sanitation practices.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance and address them thoroughly.
  • Time Management: Efficiently prioritize tasks to ensure all areas are cleaned and ready for use as needed.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with other staff members to ensure a seamless client experience.

  • Strong work ethics and reliability.
