Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and result-driven Chief Security Officer (CSO) to provide strategic leadership for our security operation while driving service excellence, business growth and client satisfaction.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the private security industry, strong operational leadership skills and the ability to develop and grow lasting client relationships. 

Key Responsibilities 
Operational Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction for all manned guarding operation across client locations 
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve operational policies, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure the efficient deployment, supervision, welfare and discipline of all security personnel
  • Conduct regular operational inspections, site audits and quality assurance assessments 
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, company standards and regulatory requirements 
  • Lead investigations into security incidents and ensure timely submission of comprehensive reports 
  • Oversee emergency response planning, crisis management and business continuity initiatives 

Business Development & Client Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new security contracts and expanding the Company’s market presence 
  • Prepare technical proposals, security assessments and commercial bids for prospective clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, regulatory agencies and strategic partners 
  • Conduct client presentations, contract negotiations and periodic service review meetings 

Strategic Planning & Business Performance:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s strategic objectives and annual business plans 
  • Collaborate with Management on budgeting, resource planning and financial performance improvement
  • Monitor operational performance against established targets and recommend improvement initiatives
  • Prepare periodic operational and management reports for Executive Management
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where necessary 

People Leadership: 

  • Lead, mentor and develop Operations Managers, Patrol Supervisors, Site Supervisors and Security Guards
  • Support the recruitment, selection, onboarding and training of security personnel 
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and implement development plans for operational staff

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices governing private security operations 
  • Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies 
  • Ensure proper documentation, record keeping and audit readiness

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Represent the Company in meetings with clients, regulators, law enforcement agencies, industry associations and other stakeholders 
  • Foster productive relationships that enhance the Company’s reputation and competitive position
  • Support the promotion of the Company’s brand and professional image within the security industry

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law or a related discipline 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the private security industry 
  • At least 2 years in a senior operational leadership role within a reputable man-guarding company
  • Proven track record in business development, client acquisition and account management
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian private security industry and its regulatory environment
