Job Title: Surveyor (Oil and Gas)

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• The Surveyor will be responsible for accurately measuring, monitoring, and verifying petroleum products received, stored, and dispatched within the tank farm.
• The role ensures inventory accuracy, quantity reconciliation, compliance with industry standards, and operational integrity by conducting stock measurements, inspections, and documentation of petroleum products.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily tank gauging and product measurements using approved methods and equipment.
• Determine the quantity of petroleum products received, stored, and dispatched.
• Perform tank dipping, ullage, water finding, and temperature measurements.
• Calculate product volumes and apply correction factors where necessary.
• Verify product quantities during loading and discharge operations.
• Witness receipt and discharge of petroleum products from vessels, trucks, or pipelines.
• Verify cargo quantities against shipping documents.
• Monitor product transfers between storage tanks.
• Conduct pre-loading and post-loading inspections.
• Prepare daily stock reports.
• Record discrepancies in product quantity or quality.
• Maintain measurement logs and inspection records.
• Verify seals and tank conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in: Quantity Surveying, Petroleum Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in: Tank farm operations, Petroleum terminal operations, Cargo surveying, Inventory management and Oil & Gas logistics.
