Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Head Pastry Chef to lead our bakery and pastry production team.
- The successful candidate will oversee the daily production of high-quality pastries and baked goods, manage bakery operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and supervise the production of a wide variety of pastries, cakes, breads, cookies, donuts, croissants, pies, muffins, desserts, and other baked products.
- Develop and introduce new pastry recipes and seasonal product offerings.
- Ensure consistent product quality, taste, and presentation.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and motivate bakery staff.
- Plan daily production schedules based on customer demand and sales forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure the timely procurement of baking ingredients and supplies.
- Minimize waste and maintain cost-effective production processes.
- Conduct quality control checks on all finished products.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain bakery equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor product freshness and ensure bakery shelves are adequately stocked.
- Collaborate with store management to achieve operational and sales targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment.
Requirements
- 5–7 years' proven experience as a Pastry Chef, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven expertise in producing a wide variety of pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, and other baked products.
- Experience working in a supermarket, retail bakery, commercial bakery, or hospitality environment is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Experience in inventory management and cost control.
- Culinary, Pastry, or Bakery certification is an added advantage.
- Must be willing to reside in the provided accommodation.
- Must be available for immediate employment.
