Job Title: Primary Class Teacher

About the Role

  • We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Class Teacher to join our vibrant teaching team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (Year 1–Year 6), ensuring that every pupil is supported to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • This role requires a committed educator who is passionate about child-centred learning, safeguarding, and creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England and Wales
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
  • Set high expectations for learning, behaviour, and presentation
  • Use assessment data to track progress and inform teaching
  • Prepare, mark, and provide timely feedback on pupils’ work
  • Create a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment

Assessment & Reporting:

  • Monitor, assess, and record student progress regularly
  • Contribute to formal reporting cycles and assessments
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student development
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and progress meetings

Pastoral & Safeguarding:

  • Promote student wellbeing, safety, and positive behaviour at all times
  • Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns appropriately
  • Support attendance, behaviour, and emotional development of pupils
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and parents

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school events
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning
  • Uphold the school’s values, ethos, and behaviour policies
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and whole-school initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and professional standards at all times

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related discipline
  • Professional teaching qualification (PGDE, TRCN, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of the British Curriculum (advantageous)
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Passion for working with primary-aged children
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
