Job Summary
- Our Client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership and drive the company’s financial planning, reporting, treasury, and risk management functions.
- As a key leader within a dynamic energy sector organization, this role will shape corporate strategy, safeguard assets, and ensure financial sustainability. The CFO will oversee capital planning, investor relations, compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards, and lead capital raising initiatives including project finance and structured funding.
- This position also involves managing enterprise risk frameworks, supporting operational and commercial decision-making, and championing digital transformation across finance functions. Candidates can expect to lead a high-performing team, influence strategic growth, and enhance financial resilience in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Our Client’s comprehensive financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation processes to optimize investment decisions and portfolio performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards, maintaining robust accounting practices and internal controls.
- Manage corporate treasury functions including liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, credit facilities, and hedging strategies to safeguard financial stability.
- Lead capital raising initiatives encompassing debt, equity, and joint venture financing to support operational and strategic projects.
- Establish and maintain enterprise risk management frameworks, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and industry-specific financial requirements, including HSE-related financial responsibilities.
- Provide financial analysis and commercial support for project evaluation, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and cost management to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, regulators, and key stakeholders through transparent communication and comprehensive financial reporting.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance, accounting, and procurement team, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Champion digital transformation within the finance function by implementing ERP systems, automation, and advanced data analytics to streamline processes and enhance decision-making.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent
- 12-15 years of progressive finance experience with at least 5 years in senior finance leadership roles
- Demonstrated expertise in fundraising, project finance, and managing complex capital structures
- Deep knowledge and mastery of IFRS and GAAP compliance standards
- Proven experience in strategic financial modeling and corporate financial planning
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance in the energy sector
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or relevant master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience leading financial operations within the energy industry or similar sectors
- Proficiency in treasury management, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and hedging strategies
- Track record of successful capital raising initiatives including debt, equity, and joint venture financing
- Skilled in implementing digital finance transformation tools such as ERP systems, automation, and advanced analytics
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience building and mentoring high-performing finance and procurement teams
- Excellent strategic and commercial acumen with a strong ethical governance mindset
