Job Title: Chemistry Teacher

Location: Akobo, Ibadan - Oyo

Job Summary

• We are seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Chemistry lessons using both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula.
• The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and a strong foundation in Chemistry while preparing them for internal and external examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in line with the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula.
• Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, practical activities, and instructional materials that support effective teaching and learning.
• Conduct laboratory practical sessions, ensuring students adhere to laboratory safety rules and procedures.
• Prepare students for internal examinations as well as Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, WAEC, NECO, and other relevant external examinations.
• Assess, evaluate, and monitor students' academic progress through assignments, practicals, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
• Utilize modern teaching strategies, educational technology, and laboratory resources to enhance students' understanding of Chemistry concepts.
• Provide academic guidance and support to students, identifying learning gaps and implementing appropriate intervention strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Ed. in Chemistry.
• Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience using both the Cambridge and Nigerian curricula.
• Strong knowledge of WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge Chemistry syllabuses.
• Excellent classroom management, lesson planning, and student assessment skills.
• Ability to conduct Chemistry practicals safely and effectively.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools is an added advantage.
• TRCN certificationis an added advantage.
• Candidates with relevant Cambridge Curriculum certifications and demonstrated experience delivering the Cambridge syllabus will receive priority consideration and may be offered remuneration above the stated minimum salary.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly (Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications).
