We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Trainer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Delivery and assessment of Instrumentation Maintenance (IM) training elements, including Specialist IM HES elements
  • Assist in preparing IM Training Elements documentation for Cegelec [St Denis] certification.
  • Team Leader for Task Based Risk Assessment Teams for practical IM training and work-related activities requiring a Permit To Work.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of IM Practical Workshop, Equipment and Apparatus.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of all specialist practical IM HES training equipment.
  • Weekly IM Team meeting
  • Monthly facility inspection of IM Training Equipment.
  • Prepare Instrumentation Training Team performance reports:
  • Daily: IM trainee attendance, requested absence and medical absence record
  • Weekly: IM trainee performance – exception reporting.
  • Monthly: IM trainee performance report - progress against target.
  • Monthly: IM training facility operations inspection, monitoring and performance report.
  • Quarterly: IM training and facility performance and quality improvement report.
  • Managing the IM Reference Library, CBT Training Library and any other Training Reference material, including recording item issuance and recovering non-returned items.
  • Managing the IM Learning Reinforcement posters in the facility.
  • Support facilitation of Team Building Events.
  • Preparation and management of Team Building Events
  • Team Leader for Task Based Risk Assessment Teams for team building events
  • Participate as facilitator (i.e. Referee) in Sports activities.
  • Team facilitator for Task Based Risk Assessment Teams for Sporting events

Requirements

  • A seasoned technical professional with a minimum of 12 years with an Oil & Gas multi-national Operator or Service Company as a responsible person in Instrumentation Maintenance (minimum Supervisory level) and a minimum of 8 years active training experience in Instrumentation Maintenance up to Engineering Level. 

The Instrumentation Trainer-Coach will have the following attributes, training and qualifications: 

  • Motivated trainer dedicated to developing trainee talent: knowledge, skill and personal performance. 
  • Articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal and man-management skills. 
  • Creative and innovative technical professional continually seeking new ways to affect technology transfer. 
  • Oil & Gas instrumentation maintenance, preferably covering both onshore and offshore facilities. 
  • Broad spectrum of plant and process exposure. 
  • Preferably with a recognized certificate or experience in competence assessment (to Level A1/V1).
