Job Title: ICSS / PLC Specialist

Location: Rivers

Job Summary

  • In charge of System equipment that is used for control, shutdown, emergency and communication functions on the FPSO, working closely with Supervisors as required on the job. In line with the company’s reference,
  • Ensure that the control systems are available and functioning to support operations
  • Train and mentor ICSS team members to work on control systems
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain system equipment to ensure it is operating within design conditions, and at optimum performance
  • Identify opportunities to optimise the performance of system equipment, and initiate MOC's (if necessary) to implement any improvements that are outside of the documented operating parameters
  • Use Diagnostic functions of the systems to identify detailed system information that can be used for troubleshooting purposes
  • Provide training and mentoring for all system equipment utilising Operating manuals, Procedure Manuals, and any other training aids provided
  • Update and maintain system training materials (including Process & subsea simulators) used in the training of personnel, utilising the appropriate MOC processes if necessary
  • Provide consistent, sound advice to Operators and Discipline supervisors regarding operation and maintenance of the System equipment, in a safe manner and in accordance with OIMS, codes, and good business practices.
  • Provide direction to Instrument Techs consistent with the vision, values, and beliefs of company operations
  • Operate and conduct first-line maintenance on all system equipment, following approved procedures and practices
  • Ensure DCS configurations are current and backed up
  • Ensure SIS logic configuration is backed up on every download change
  • Ensure all other system device configurations are current and backed up
  • Perform the assigned duties (if any) identified in the Emergency Response Manual
  • The candidate for ICSS should have completed the STS roadmap for ICSS tech
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain system equipment to ensure it is operating within design conditions, and at optimum performance
  • Develop and/or review work packages for planned maintenance activities on the systems, confirm isolation requirements have been applied correctly and equipment in a manner that provides a safe environment for personnel to work in
  • Support and encourage team effort between Maintenance, Engineering and Projects Groups
  • Support team members in the development of work permit requirements as discussed in the Work Management Manual
  • Assist in the development of team technical skills, enhance troubleshooting, process upset
  • Reading and interpreting project plans and procedures
  • Carrying out planned maintenance checks
  • Performs on-site maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility
  • Manages intervention reporting using the CMMS, ensuring accurate data input for the historical reporting on the work he actions
  • Ensures all worksites are clean and tidy on completion of works
  • Participates fully in Pre-work assessments and risk assessments and abides by the recommendations.
  • Responds to emergency calls
  • Verifies that all procedures, specifications and standards are followed
  • Ensures that the operations planned work scope is managed effectively in accordance with agreed targets to avoid disruption.
  • Ensures that day-to-day requirements are met with regard to scope, tools and means and onsite risk assessments.
  • Undertakes any other duties which may be required (within his competency) to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
  • Ensures that plant, equipment and materials stocks are monitored, and all required certifications are in place.
  • Identifies present and potential problems, reports and discusses, and proposes solutions/alternatives
  • Daily activities report to team coordinator.
  • Ensure that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during preparation of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility.
  • Warns support teams of availability or quality of spare parts.
  • Keeps track of any backlog of work in his area of responsibility and suggests corrective measures to reduce backlog.

Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC (A-levels + 3 years’ study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the maintenance field on oil and gas production installations 
  • A basic knowledge of the process of oil and gas treatment, installations and a thorough knowledge of the equipment used in oil and gas treatment installations 
  • Specific professional knowledge: SAP/R3 experience and know- how 
  • Possession of additional professional qualifications will be an advantage
