Job Overview

  • We are seeking a competent, safety-conscious, and highly motivated Electrical Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance Team responsible for the maintenance of GE Frame 6B Gas Turbine engine.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Job Description

  • Carry out preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, MCCs, control panels, and auxiliary systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine inspections and ensure all electrical equipment operates within specified parameters.
  • Participate in planned shutdowns, overhauls, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work procedures, and electrical safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving plant reliability and availability.

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance within a power plant, gas processing facility, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, motors, and control systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical faults effectively.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety practices and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Respond to emergencies, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a gas turbine engine or thermal power generation facility.
  • Knowledge of Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, or similar industrial electrical systems.

Salary
N550,000 - N625,000 monthly.
