Job Title: Senior Java Software Engineer

Location: Lagos

Role Description

• This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications, with a strong focus on microservices architecture and Spring Framework.
• The engineer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing code, optimizing performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.
• The Senior Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years experience
• Strong Java and general Programming skills, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development across the full lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining Microservices, including service orchestration, scalability, and resilience.
• Deep knowledge of the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) for enterprise-grade application development.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in hybrid, collaborative environments.
• Banking or fintech experience is a must
• Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role, including mentoring and technical guidance, is highly beneficial.
