Job Title: Solar Sales Manager

Location: Lagos 
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid
Reports To: Group COO

The Role

  • We're looking for a driven Solar Sales Manager who combines strong sales execution with business development leadership. You'll manage a territory or portfolio of accounts, drive new customer acquisition and close deals while building a pipeline that grows revenue consistently.
  • You're equally comfortable closing a large commercial deal as you are coaching a sales team. You see opportunities others miss, you know how to navigate complex solar projects and stakeholder decisions, and you have the resilience to handle objections and close in a competitive market.

Core Responsibilties
Sales Execution and Closing:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of customer accounts, managing pipeline and forecasting revenue.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking and market analysis.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple decision makers in residential, commercial or utility solar projects.
  • Prepare competitive proposals and presentations that address customer needs and objections.
  • Close deals on target and manage contracts through to project handoff.

Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new market segments, verticals or customer types within your territory.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with integrators, contractors, consultants or other channel partners.
  • Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and recommend strategy adjustments.
  • Support pricing strategy and product positioning based on market conditions and competitive landscape.

Leadership and Team Performance:

  • Coach and develop junior sales staff or team members on selling skills, product knowledge and solar industry dynamics.
  • Lead by example with strong personal sales performance and a clear winning mindset.
  • Monitor team pipeline, forecasts and activity metrics, holding team accountable to targets.
  • Share best practices and celebrate wins that motivate the team.

Industry Knowledge and Product Expertise:

  • Develop deep knowledge of solar technology, financing options, incentives and project economics.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive products and regulatory changes affecting sales strategy.
  • Answer customer technical questions or coordinate with engineering and product teams.

What You Bring
Experience:

  • Four to ten plus years of solar sales experience
  • Experience managing a team or mentoring junior sales professionals
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals
  • Strong understanding of solar market, financing, incentives and project economics
  • Proven ability to build and manage a sales pipeline from prospecting to close.

  • Understanding of solar financing, tax incentives and project economics
  • Awareness of industry challenges such as supply chain, interconnection and permitting.
