The Nigeria French Language Village is an Inter-University Centre for French Studies, established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to cater primarily for the Language Immersion Programme of undergraduates of French in Nigerian tertiary institutions. It is an autonomous institution within the ambit of the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Job Title: Librarian

Description

  • The Librarian is a Principal Officer, the Head and Officer in-charge of the library. He shall be responsible to the Director & Services Executive Officer for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the Nigeria French Language Village Library

Requirements
Candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • First Degree in French with minimum of Second-Class Lower Division from a recognized University plus NYSC discharga/Examption Certificate. He/She must have a Master's Degree and a PhD in Library and Information Science plus 18 years cognate experience in a University Library or any Library of a Tertiary institution of which substantial part of it might have been spentin a Library of a Francophone environment.
  • Must have a minimum of 25 scholarly publications in reputable peer-teviewed journals or have contributed to the publishing of books relating to the library profession as required of an Academic Staft.
  • Ha/She must be a Professionally certified member of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRN) and Nigeria Library Association(NLA).
  • Must be versed with University/Academic Research and Library administration
  • Must be able to promote inter-library collaboration and international academic linkages
  • Must have ICT proficiency certificate and experience in modern digital library management. Candidate must have spent at east 3 years as a Deputy Librarian in any institution of comparable status.
