Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision & Technical Oversight:

• Daily Supervision: Supervise all construction activities on assigned project sites daily, ensuring every trade works to the correct approved drawings, specifications, and build sequences.
• Setting Out & Verification: Set out and verify all structural and architectural elements to the correct lines, levels, and tolerances before any concrete is poured, block is laid, or steel is fixed.
• Quality Assurance: Prepare and enforce Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements for every key work package; inspect works at critical stages, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) immediately when standards are not met, and follow through to full resolution.
• Trade Coordination: Coordinate the interfaces between structure, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), facade, and finishes across all active trades to identify and resolve design conflicts on paper before they become expensive physical issues.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as the on-site technical authority, providing clear, correct, and timely direction to contractors and subcontractors.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

• Safety Enforcement: Enforce health and safety protocols on site without exception; conduct daily site inspections, lead toolbox talks, and review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements before work begins.
• Authority to Stop Work: Exercise the absolute authority to stop any activity immediately where there is a risk to life, regardless of schedule pressures.
• HSE Recordkeeping: Ensure all HSE records, incident reports, and near-miss logs are completed accurately and promptly.

Programme & Progress Management:

• Milestone Tracking: Track construction progress against the master programme daily, identifying and escalating threats to milestones to the Project Manager and Managing Director before they cause actual delays.
• Progress Reporting: Submit clear, accurate daily and weekly progress reports complete with photographs, site diary entries, and an objective account of project status.
• Query Management: Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) the moment a drawing is unclear or incomplete, chasing responses and implementing the outcomes on site immediately.

Documentation & Commercial Oversight:

• Site Records: Maintain audit-ready site records, including drawings, RFIs, NCRs, inspection records, material test certificates, delivery logs, and all official correspondence.
• Commercial Defense: Check and verify every contractor valuation and daywork sheet against physical progress on site before it escalates to management.
• Material Verification: Maintain accurate records of all materials received on site, verifying quantities and quality against approved specifications before formal acceptance.

Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 / month
