Job Title: Deputy Station Manager
Location: Asaba, Delta
Job Summary
- We are looking for a proactive Deputy Station Manager who will oversee the daily operations of the station to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations.
- The role is responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, monitoring sales and cash controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high customer service standards, and enforcing Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily station operations.
- Ensure continuous availability of petroleum products, LPG, lubricants, and other products.
- Supervise fuel receipt, product discharge, storage, dispensing, and reconciliation.
- Ensure smooth opening and closing of daily station operations.
- Monitor dispenser functionality and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper shift handovers and operational continuity.
- Maintain station cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Sales and Business Development:
- Support the achievement of monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor daily sales performance and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Drive sales of fuels, lubricants, LPG, and non-fuel products.
- Support marketing campaigns and customer engagement initiatives.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor daily stock levels of petroleum products, lubricants, LPG, and convenience store items.
- Conduct daily stock reconciliation.
- Verify product receipts and stock transfers.
- Investigate stock variances and product losses.
- Ensure inventory records are accurate and up to date.
Financial Management:
- Supervise daily cash collections and reconciliations.
- Verify sales reports and banking records.
- Ensure compliance with cash handling and financial control procedures.
- Monitor operating expenses and minimize operational losses.
- Assist in budget implementation and cost control.
Staff Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate station employees.
- Prepare work schedules and shift rosters.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and discipline.
- Conduct on-the-job coaching and mentoring.
- Participate in staff performance evaluations.
- Ensure employees comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Accounting, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Operations Management, Health & Safety, or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in downstream oil and gas, petroleum retail operations, depot operations, or a related field.
