Job Title: Business Support Officer

Duties
- Conduct assessment on community business opportunities tailored for youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
- Conduct market assessments to evaluate the financial viability of proposed agricultural enterprises.
- Conduct skills gap assessments for onboarded youth and women groups.
- Support program partners in organizing entrepreneurial and business training for youths at the nurseries and demonstration fields.
- Collaborate with program partners in the creation of youth and women led businesses in targeted rural communities.
- Provide field updates to assist in preparing project progress reports and strategic planning for agricultural initiatives.
- Guide young entrepreneurs in drafting basic agribusiness plans and value chain models.
- Conduct enterprise verification exercises to evaluate program compliance and impact.
- Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- BSc / HND in Agriculture or related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing Agribusiness project or program support in a well-structured environment.
Competencies
The ideal candidate must:
- Have strong background in agriculture or agribusiness, with an entrepreneurial mind-set and the ability to identify and evaluate community-based business opportunities.
- Have basic financial literacy with the capacity to support youth and women in record keeping, business planning, and enterprise development.
- Have excellent communication, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and meet targets under pressure.
- Be detail-oriented, with the ability to work in varying weather conditions and undertake regular in-country travel.
