We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Static Engineer (Ethane to Polymer Plant)

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The Static Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all static mechanical equipment within the Ethane to Polymer Plant.
  • The role supports asset integrity, mechanical reliability, inspection, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities to maximize equipment availability while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for the maintenance and reliability of static equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, storage tanks, boilers, fired heaters, flare systems, and piping.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for static assets.
  • Support inspection programs, corrosion monitoring, and mechanical integrity initiatives in accordance with applicable API, ASME, and company standards.
  • Investigate equipment failures, conduct root cause analyses, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Participate in plant shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, repair procedures, technical specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Management (PSM), and HSE compliance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with operations, inspection, maintenance, and contractors to ensure safe and timely execution of maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate equipment history, inspection records, and technical reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6–10 years' experience in static equipment maintenance within petrochemical, refinery, oil and gas, LNG, or chemical processing plants.
  • Experience in Ethane Cracker or Polymer Plants is an added advantage.
