We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Engineering Planner

Locations: Port Harcourt - Rivers and Delta
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The Engineering Planner develops detailed work plans, schedules, and resource requirements for engineering projects and maintenance activities.
  • They coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors, and other stakeholders to optimize productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure efficient execution of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain engineering and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare detailed work plans, job packages, and project timelines.
  • Estimate labor, materials, equipment, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules as work progresses.
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, and resource conflicts, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare cost estimates and support budget planning.
  • Ensure materials, spare parts, and equipment are available before work begins.
  • Maintain planning and maintenance records in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Generate progress reports, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. .
  • Participate in project review meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience in engineering planning, maintenance planning, or project coordination.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and scheduling techniques.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Good report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
