Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced Accountant to manage the hospital's financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support sound financial decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial reports, managing budgets, overseeing transactions, and ensuring the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and forecasting.
  • Process payroll and ensure statutory deductions are accurately calculated and remitted.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure efficient financial management.
  • Prepare and file tax returns while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records.
  • Collaborate with management to improve financial processes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 – 5 years experience in accounting, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
