Global Peace Development (GPD) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in April 2002 and focuses on promoting peace for development in Nigeria. The organization envisions a society where sustainable peace drives development for all. GPD seek to build a peaceful society through gender equality, social justice, democracy and governance.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: State Coordinator

Location: Jos, Plateau
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Global Peace Development (GPD) seeks a dynamic and passionate State Coordinator to oversee the operations of the
  • State office, lead state resource mobilization and proposal design, manage programs implementation, and collaboration through partnership and engagement with critical Stakeholders in the State.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Global Peace Development (GPD) resource mobilization effort in the focal state; this includes search and flag up call for proposals and development of concept note and proposals
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations: state level activities, GPD policy compliance as well as donors • Oversee the implementation of projects activities within the state
  • Initiate and facilitate partnership engagement with donors, critical government stakeholders and CSOs within the focal state
  • Appraise state personnel performance and deliverables
  • Oversee state level research, Rapid need assessment and base line study to support proposal development and generation of income
  • Review all state level project activity concept note, and activity reports before it gets to Program Managers and Donor
  • Support development of policy brief and other GPD literatures
  • Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies
  • Oversee state level financial management and reporting

Requirements

  • HND/Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, International Development Studies, and Public Administration).
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management, community development, or related fields, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing and implementing successful initiatives.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
