We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety inspections across all active work areas in the assigned area; log findings and close out actions
  • Lead the daily toolbox talk for workers in the assigned area before work commences
  • Issue, monitor, and close out all permits to work for activities in the assigned area
  • Inspect all scaffolding and access equipment in the assigned area weekly; report any defects to the HSE Manager immediately
  • Monitor welfare facilities for workers: toilet provision, drinking water, and first aid availability
  • Assist in incident and near-miss investigations
  • Maintain HSE records including inductions, toolbox talks, permit logs, and inspection records
  • Report daily to the HSE Manager on safety status

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent; membership of ISPON or equivalent safety professional body is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of HSE experience on major construction sites in Nigeria
  • Valid first aid certification

Key Competencies and Personal Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage positively with site workers on safety matters
  • Alert and observant; able to identify unsafe conditions and behaviours proactively
  • Consistent and diligent in daily inspection routines
