We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Switchyard Engineer (Electrical – Switchyard & Substation)

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain 33kV/11kV switchyard, power transformers, and HT/LT switchgear
  • Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and support plant-wide power distribution reliability
  • Manage protection relays, relay coordination, and electrical protection settings
  • Monitor power factor, energy consumption, and demand optimization
  • Maintain electrical drawings, SLDs, and maintenance records
  • Coordinate with utility providers on shutdowns and power restoration
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and operational procedures
  • Supervise technicians and contractors within the switchyard

Requirements

  • B.Eng / B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Power option preferred)
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in switchyard/substation maintenance within steel, cement, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • High-voltage systems (33kV/11kV)
    • Power transformers and switchgear
    • Protection relays and power system protection
    • Electrical fault diagnosis and maintenance planning
  • Knowledge of SCADA and industrial automation is an added advantage.
