Egbin Power Plc. Lagos is one of the biggest additions to the electricity industry in Nigeria. Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.
Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years.

Job Description
- The Head of Corporate Communications and Branding is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that align with Egbin Power Plc’s vision and business objectives.
- Oversee the company’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all platforms and communication channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders to enhance corporate visibility and manage internal communications to foster employee engagement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication strategies that align with Egbin Power Plc’s vision and business objectives.
- Identify and proactively manage the growth of the Egbin brand and any issues that may impact reputation.
- Manage the company’s reputation with stakeholders through regular communication of critical messages about company activities, plans, achievements, and contributions to society.
- Oversee and safeguard the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders to enhance corporate visibility.
- Manage internal communications to foster employee engagement and alignment with corporate goals.
- Lead crisis communication efforts to protect and preserve the company’s reputation.
- Engage with regulators, partners, and community stakeholders through effective communication.
- Manage relationships with the host community by engaging stakeholders, addressing concerns, and aligning expectations to ensure smooth operations and foster collaboration that supports the business.
- Supervise digital communication strategies and ensure an impactful presence across social media platforms.
- Oversee the creation of press releases, newsletters, speeches, and other corporate communication materials.
- Coordinate corporate events, product launches, CSR initiatives, and branding campaigns.
- Monitor communication activities, measure effectiveness, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws, including NDPR, and uphold corporate governance standards.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the communications and branding team, fostering innovation and professional growth.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
- Professional certifications in Brand Management, Digital Marketing, or Corporate Communications (e.g., CIPR, CIM, IABC) are an added advantage.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or branding.
- Experience in media relations, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working in large organisations or multinational companies is highly desirable.
