Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

• The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications that will enable the business operations and objectives of the organization.
• This role requires working with different teams within the organization to ensure that software applications developed comply with the standards set in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support software applications and enterprise solutions
• Translate requirements from the customer or end-user into application specifications
• Code efficiently, elegantly, and effectively
• Implement APIs, databases, and applications
• Debug, troubleshoot, and fix software bugs and problems
• Contribute to software architecture, code review, and system design discussions
• Optimize software for performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Support software documentation including technical specifications and user manuals
• Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, and QA personnel to deliver projects on time
• Keep up to date with current developments in software development technology and trends

Requirements

• A high level of experience and expertise in at least one programming language (Java, C#, Python, PHP, JavaScript, C++, or another)
• Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques and software design principles/patterns
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or any other framework of your choice will be an added advantage
• Experience with at least one relational and/or non-relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud computing
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, debugging, and deployment practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• Relevant professional certifications in software development or cloud technologies will be an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in software development or software engineering
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing software applications
• A portfolio or evidence of completed software projects will be an added advantage
• Experience working in an ICT or technology-driven organization is desirable
